Cable pulley machines

Despite being of great benefit to both experienced weightlifters and those new to the sport, it remains an under-used piece of kit when it comes to garage gyms. There is an assumption that a home cable pulley system will be expensive or will be difficult to use. With some research, you will find that neither of these things are true. You could be getting the benefit of a cable machine workout for less money and less effort than you'd think.

These machines have an advantage over specialised units designed to work only one muscle group as they are able to condition the whole body. The workout offered by a cable machine can improve balance, muscle strength and coordination.

Functional Trainers and Cable Crossover

When you first start on your weightlifting journey, there can be more gains to be made with an all-round workout than focusing on just one muscle group. This is why adding a pulley system to your power rack or getting a self-contained machine can be so advantageous.

Even when you are an experienced lifter, it is still vital to work the whole body. Cable machines offer functional training, with a combination of both resistance and tension.

If you are building your home gym, you may also like to look at gym floor tiles.
