A movement that works your rear deltoids as well as your rotator cuffs is the shoulder external rotation. If you have limited range of motion around your shoulders or experience any tightness, then this exercise is not to be missed.

• Standing up, with your feet shoulder width apart, wrap a fabric resistance band around your wrists with your palms facing inwards.

• Bend both of your elbows to around 90 degrees; your forearms should be in a straight line, parallel to the ground.

• Move your palms away from each other, whilst keeping your elbows against your sides.

• Repeat for 2-3 sets of 15 reps.

• Standing upright with your core engaged, grab the band with your free hand and begin to stretch it behind you.

• Your forearm should be extended, however try not to move your elbow. The movement is mainly from your lower arm.

• Return to the starting position and repeat for 2-3 sets for 10 repetitions.

• Pause at the top and then complete on the other side.
