How To Use a Power Rack Monolift Attachment
Ever struggled to unrack a heavy Weight Bar before squatting? Not too keen on those little steps backwards when you’re at your limit? A monolift attachment could make all the difference. This simple yet effective power rack attachment can reinvent your rack setup, making heavy lifts safer, less daunting and more efficient.
What is a Monolift Attachment?
A monolift attachment consists of a pair of counter-weighted arms that mount directly onto your power rack uprights. When you unrack the barbell, these arms automatically swing backwards and out of the way. You can then begin your lift straightaway without the need to step back from the rack.
Installation couldn’t be easier. Simply mount the arms to your rack uprights at your desired height using the securing pins and safety clips.
At Mirafit, we offer two versions to match our power cages – the M3 Monolift Attachment for our 60mm frames and the M4 Monolift Attachment for 75mm commercial racks.
Benefits of Using a Monolift Attachment
Improved Lift Efficiency
The biggest advantage of the monolift attachment is eliminating the walk-out phase of your heavy squats. With a traditional setup, you unrack the bar, take a few tentative steps back, get your feet in the right position and brace before you perform a squat. You then walk forward to re-rack. With a monolift, you simply unrack and squat in place. This saves energy, reduces unnecessary fatigue and means you can get fully set up without readjustment.
Reduced Risk
Walking with a heavy load on your back increases the risk of stumbles, balance issues and not getting set up properly. By removing this element, monolift attachments make your heavy squats significantly safer. This is especially true in commercial gym environments where people could be walking behind you.
Better Positioning
Maintaining perfect squat position is easier when you don't need to adjust your stance after unracking. The monolift lets you set up in your ideal position before taking the weight.
Barbell Protection
Our monolift attachments feature UHMW liners that protect your barbell and uprights from scratches when racking and unracking.
Adjustable Height
You can install the monolift arms at any height on your rack uprights. This makes it versatile for all lifters and across different exercises.
Who Should Use Monolift Attachments?
Heavy Lifters and Powerlifters
If you're squatting substantial weight, monolifts are invaluable. They eliminate the energy-draining walk-out phase and let you focus purely on your lift technique. Some powerlifting competitions use monolift racks, so training with a monolift attachment can help replicate competition conditions at home.
Gym Owners
Our M4 monolift attachment is specifically designed for full commercial environments. Built with heavy-duty steel construction, it's brilliant for busy facilities with serious lifters.
Home Gym and PT Studio Owners
The M3 monolift attachment makes the perfect pairing for our M3 Power Racks. And with a 450kg weight capacity, it can still take some serious weight.
With our monolift attachments, you can focus on what matters – squatting heavy weight with great form. Whether you're training for competition, love your heavy lifting or want to make your home workouts more time efficient, this simple addition to your power rack can work wonders.
