2 years of happy deadlifting ???? on 4ft4ft, I know: full-fat gym-goers will shiver. But: I had no space for anything else! Collars: they're so small! My 25KG bumper takes up half the space... I guess you can't have everything, though. Exercises: - Deadlifts work: there's no whip, so it's slightly "different" to the lift that you'll see Eddie Hall do. ???? However, it still is a deadlift. Two red plates on each side, and this bar doesn't break a sweat. - OHP, single hand: as a "dumbbell" these are GREAT! With some change plates, or 5KG, this 9KG bar makes the stabiliser muscles work hard doing a standing Arnold Press*. I tend to do 1 with the left hand, swap: 1 right, 2 left, 2 right, 3... until one arm fatigues. Then I drop the weight a little, wait a minute, and do it again. I much prefer this to using regular dumbbells. * has to be Arnold, or one hits one's head with a 4ft metal rod!! ???? - Hip thrust: this excels! Glute researcher Bret Contreras recommends a shorter bar: here it is! - Rows: yeah, sure. As good as a barbell can be for this. - RDLs: works well. More stability than a 7ft. Snatch grip is possible - just about. - Squats: nope. Not a chance on the 4ft. - Bench: nope. Well, maybe from the floor, as a pin press. Gripe: I'd rather this was 10KG - rather than 8.9KG. Ah well. MF do advise the weight. As usual, superbly packaged (I still remember this 2 years on)!
