Squat bar pads and barbell cushions

Squat pads are not just for the barbell squat, these thick foam pads are also widely used during hip thrust exercises. The pressure placed on hip bones during hip thrusts can be significant. Without a pad on the bar, this can result in bruising. This bruising will in turn lead to pain the next time you attempt the exercise.

Barbell pads are also useful when carrying out Zercher squats. This is where the weighted bar is placed across the body on the underside of the elbows. The foam bar will offer protection and comfort.

So don't put up with discomfort with a heavy weight bar, absorb some of the impact of squatting and hip thrusts with a barbell pad.
