The power bar is great. I started lifting 6 years ago, and got a £200 barbell and 80kg weights set from powerhouse fitness. It was an Olympic barbell and served me well for years, but it had crappy sleeves that were only held on by a single bolt. The knurling was shallow and needed chalking up for every lift no matter the weight. It had way too much spin and felt loose all the time, and while it was a great first barbell it was definitely only worth what I paid for it. Enter the Mirafit power bar. No exaggeration it makes me tear up with joy at how well its made. Firstly the knurling is exquisite, for anyone like me with unreasonably sweaty hands youll love this bad boy. It grips you back! The spin on the sleeves is slower than ones used for Olympic lifts, but for the big powerlifting moves it is the perfect amount. If you want something to clean or snatch with, get a specific bar for that instead. It feels stable and sturdy, no looseness in the whole unit but a pleasant amount of whip. If youve never felt a barbell when youve taken out the slack before a deadlift, I guarantee youll be pleasantly surprised. I've never tried a really expensive high end barbell, so I cant say where this one sits in terms of all bars. Nonetheless, if you have a choice between this one and any other in or below its price range, choose this. Mirafit never lets me down with quality or timely deliveries. Tl;dr great barbell, feels sturdy and will give you the feeling you could challenge Eddie hall.
  2. Great bar, knurling initially takes some getting used to

The weren't joking with the knurling being more aggressive. First few uses felt like I was benching with sandpaper, being left with a knurling tattoo on my hand and decade old calluses that I thought were made of steel almost reopened. Just a forewarning. That said, this is only really an 'issue' for the first few uses on heavy flat benching - was fine with the more upright overhead press and after a few uses you get used to it. The spin is also noticeably less (as advertised with a powerlifting bar) though you will notice the difference if you have been benching with a standard olympic bar or those you may have used in gyms before lockdown. It comes into its own with pulling exercises. The extra knurling and slightly larger diameter is great; the bar sits static in the hands without feeling like its going to slip - perfect for heavier rows/rdls where you might not be resting the bar between reps. Least important but worth a mention that the bar also looks great, very smart and everything down to the end caps are well designed and thought out.
