Best accessory exercises for deadlifts

Accessory lifts help to target and strengthen individual and small muscle groups and help you to increase your numbers in your primary exercises. They should be performed as part of your regular strength training routine – warm up, primary exercise, accessory lifts and cool down.

Knowing which accessory exercises to pick can seem overwhelming so Mirafit are here to help by providing a list of accessory lifts for all the major compound exercises. This week we continue our series with the Deadlift.

The Equipment

To perform these exercises you’ll need the following equipment -

• A Barbell & Weight Plates

• A Flat Weight Bench or a Hip Thrust Bench (for exercise #1) and a Power Rack (for exercise #4)

• Exercises 1 through 3 can be performed with Dumbbells rather than barbells
