Guide to Flat Weight Benches by Mirafit

What will you buy next for your home gym? It is a simple question with so many different answers, but I am pretty sure it would not be something as simple as a Flat Weight Bench!

Probably more along the lines of the latest functional rig that has it all. However, a simple weight bench and weights is something that you just can’t do without. Sure, you may have an adjustable bench already but a flat bench will provide you with the increased stability and comfort to work with heavier loads.

Why Use a Flat Exercise Bench?

At first glance you might be thinking that the flat bench is only good for a couple of exercises such as bench press and dumbbell flys. However, a flat bench has so many more uses than just providing a place to lie on your back and develop your pecs.

The bench can be used to do exercises involving a step up, provide support for tricep dips and a place to sit for bicep curls. Some examples of exercises that you can do include -

Bulgarian split squats

• Step ups

• Bench press

• Single arm dumbbell rows

• Hip thrusters

• Skull crushers

The big advantage is that flat benches are cheaper than their incline bench counter parts. Yes, you can’t do any incline exercises but for most people that is not an issue and as you can see above you are still able to work most muscle groups on a flat bench.

The M3 bench pad has an 11cm high density foam pad, providing all the comfort and anti-slip fabric that is durable and provides support during your exercises.

It comes in two different widths and is designed for the M3 bench. The ultimate pad is 30cm wide. This allows for a greater range of motion for the arms. Think exercises such as fly’s where you would like your arms to drop lower than your chest.
