No doubt these were quality bits of kit so I have given 4 stars, but lost a star for me as they did have a very strong rubber aroma. I was concerned this would not fade so I sent them back and Mirafit were happy to refund. Having said that, every time I do hip thrusts now I do think that these would have been beneficial.

Brilliant plates for hip thrusts. My wife loves them and says they’ve been a complete game changer, as the extra height lets her get into a much better starting position. They’re really well made, easy to use, and make setting up far more comfortable than standard plates.

I have a home gym and was using barbell jacks to assist my hip-thrusts. When you have the pad on the barbell it is just too tight under it with normal plates and you can get stuck under the barbell. The jacks helped me keep the barbell elevated until I started thrusting above 100kg at which stage it was too annoying and frankly too dangerous to start reaching for the jacks and try to place the barbell into them with legs and butt shaking and mind not working.
I needed a better solution.
I found these oversized MIRAFIT thrust plates online and literally bought them immediately.
They are THE perfect size, enough room for the extra thick thrust pad (that you need above a certain weight) and just makes thrusting so much more fun. Not mentioning how easy it is now to load and unload the other plates from the barbell. These 20kgs now live on the barbell permanently and if it's possible to have a crush on weight plates then that's what happened to me the day I put them on my barbell ;)
If you're a thruster these will be your best friends, you will not regret buying these.

These hip thrust plates are great! Really solid and well made, the extra 2" of height from the larger diameter makes it much easier to get the bar over your hips for hip thrusts and work perfectly in tandem with the extra thick mirafit bar pad - instantly turning a superior exercise into a really comfortable one.
More than that, though, these plates make it so easy to load and unload plates, for deadlifts as well as hip thrusts, that you'll wonder how you ever got by without them.
For the taller lifter, like myself. the extra height also makes for a safer starting point for deadlifts without needing separate pulling blocks.
Being totally candid I can't say for certain how well your bar will hold up if you are bouncing these repeatedly off the ground with a load of regular sized 20/25kg plates on the ends but so far I've had no problems.
These are not coming off my bar and I would buy them again without hesitation.
