This is up to Mirafit usual sturdy standards but needs a base plate to level your feet as your hamstrings get hit more than lower back. Fiddly to store away and probably wouldn’t be any good for shorter people. I get away with it at 5-10. Wish I’d spent extra on the proper hyperextension.

If you are suffering from back pain, spend the money. Start slow and invest the time. I think in the last 18 months, I have done around 15,000 reps on this, both bodyweight and with load, and it has fixed so many issues! Do this and work on your hip mobility.

I have a small garage gym for training clients 1:1 and have kitted it out with a lot of Mirafit stuff. I bought this bench as much for myself as anyone else as I have a problematic back and hyperextensions really help me. I would love a GHD one day but don't have the budget or the space for one. The GHD & Hip Thrust Bench didn't exist when I bought this otherwise I might have been tempted to get that instead. I did consider the slightly more expensive Hyperextension bench but it doesn't fold. This is cheap but very well made and it folds up if you need to stash it away. I am 5'6" and it is only just small enough for me to use though. Anyone shorter than me might struggle.

After searching the net and being skeard off by pictures of £50 Roman Chairs failing at welded joints etc i decide to pay a bit more for safety and quality and this certainly fits the bill. This is built to last and although the instructions looked daunting it was easy to set up. Noticed someone mention it being a bit hard to relocate the safety pin once it's been folded up. I found this also until I realised it was my fault I had over tightened the bolt and once backed off a turn it folds and re opens easily and the safety pin just guides in. In line with all my other purchases from Mira it's quality stands out and shines would definitely recommend without any hesitation

I deliberated about the non-folding alternative, glad I didn’t and saved a bit of money instead. This is easily sturdy enough and takes up much less space. If k do need to fold it’s easy enough. The main pad feels great, the foam ankle pads are fine but I wonder how long they’ll look decent. Agree with previous reviews that the minimum height it larger - I use it low and I’m 5’10” / 178cm ish. My wife can’t use it as well as she’s 5’6”. Good value for a well made bit of kit regardless.

An essential piece of kit for any back rehab.
It was received promptly from ordering on the weekend, arriving on Monday. Assembled in minutes although, an additional tool, other than the supplied multitoo, is necessary to fasten nyloc nuts. Powder coated finish and welded construction is high quality and the pads are comfortable. My only criticism is that better foot support could be added, like a metal plate or plastic wedge to fit around and over the rear support, and perhaps a slotted sliding adjustment on the ankle rest bracket with a greater range of adjustment, rather than the limited options of bolted connection. I'd happily have a prototype to test!
All in all very good comparative value for a well built piece of kit.
