Do not be put off by this being one of the cheapest Mirafit racks, it is a well made high quality item, and spotters are easily upgraded to protect your bar. I guess another option would be to wrap something round the bar itself?! I am tight on space and the advantage for me is that it is only about 60cm deep and it can fairly quickly reduce in width, or be completely separated, so the whole thing can be moved out of the way if needed. Downsides would be that the spotter bars are not adjustable in height, and they are a little cramped to use, but definitely workable and given the compact nature of the rack is a worthwhile compromise. I also use the spotter bars to load up my barbell for RDLs and hold it there between sets. To make the spotters workable I purchased a sheet of UHMW from a popular US-based global retailer and cut it down to pieces of the right size and stuck them onto the spotters with some special VHB double sided tape. Stick the tape to the metal spotters and then if you flame treat one side of the UHMW (literally just run a hot blue flame over it, a chefs blow torch or in my case a garden weedburner will do the job) this will change its nature of the plastic for a few mins so that it will stick to the tape, once stuck it is solid - thanks to certain well known AI services for that trick!

I use this on its shortest setting to do my curling and also skullcrushers its a perfect size for holding an olympic ez bar

Very impressed with the squat rack. It is really well made and the paint finish is excellent.It is light enough to move by your self.Very easy to put together and adjusting the size is a breeze. Feels very sturdy when usingt.

Very good squat rack which is light (around 20kg) and compact. The height and width can be adjusted very quickly making it compact when not in use. Feels solid when loaded up with with bar. Rubber covers for rack included too

The most basic rack they sell, feels very sturdy and stable, quite confident using it. Spotter rails are a perfect height.
Have padded them with packaging to use them as a bench rack. Would have liked it if some rubber pads were available for the spotter rails too. Overall very happy with it.
