Leg exercise machines for home gym and commercial spaces

You can divide your leg workouts into various groups. Some exercises target glutes, some are for quads, some work hamstrings and others are designed to target calves. A good leg day will incorporate all these muscle groups.

Targeting your glutes with machines

The best way to target your glutes is with a hip thrust, and the best way to do hip thrusts is with a hip thruster machine. This piece of kit is plate loaded, so you can increase the resistance by adding more plates to the loading pins.

The hip thrust machine has a seat and backrest with a nylon belt that goes over the hips and attaches to the weight bars. Bracing against the backrest and footplate, you can perform hip thrusts. Place resistance bands on the specially designed pegs, and you can add extra resistance to the movement.

The best gym leg machines for quads

The king of the quad workout machines the hack squat machine. Although it provides a workout for all leg muscles, it does primarily target the quads. Another contender for a quad session would be the leg press machine. This also targets the quads, although it needs less stabilisation and so results in less muscle activation.

How to work your hamstrings

The two weight plate loaded machines for hamstrings are the leg extension machine and the leg curl machine. To save valuable floor space in your gym, why not get a machine that does both? Our leg extension and curl machine allows you to perform both exercises. You can increase the resistance by adding more weight plates.

Calf Muscle Workouts

Of all the machines at the gym, the most overlooked is often the calf raise machine. Devoting time to your calf muscles results in increased ankle mobility and improves your balance. Our seated calf raise machine is loadable with 2” Olympic plates. Thanks to the adjustable pad and thigh bar, it lets you work your calf muscles from a seated position, allowing for greater activation of the soleus muscle.

In addition to leg machines, we also offer a huge range of free weights that can be used on leg day, from dumbbell sets to kettlebells.
